  • Great group of believers, I enjoy their services when ever I can get to Battle Creek. The preacher is a busy man so doesn't sit around and answer questions, but, if you exchange emails you can ask him any question you have and the majority amount of the time the answer will be including verses backing the answer.

  • -just happened to see there was two google reviews of Bethel Baptist Church. = i was shocked! i have attended this church for years, and through Several Pastors. This family of believers has remained a faithful, simple church with no pomp and circumstance, -no fancy dress, no lights, no bands or d.j.'s, no clubs or committees... - just preaching from the Bible, prayer, study, and helping others. With no connection to any "bigger church"/ religious org. it has quietly supported the community and missionaries physically helping the needy all over the world. For decades this small group of believers has worked in the jails, hospitals, nursing homes, and community. Believe no lies about some needy person being refused help! I have witnessed the needy, those without cars or, wheelchair bound, etc. be escorted all around in church vans and personal cars for decades! AND, i'll fully admit the pastor there now is not very warm, sensitive, affectionate, embracing, etc. at all; you could probably say blunt, un-sugarcoating, gruff, or maybe even tough love. BUT, if you couldn't reach him, it's because he was busy like he usually is, at the jails, handing out Bible pub.s, visiting the sick, helping the elderly, etc.
(Matthew22:35-40)"-Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
-Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
-Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
-This is the first and great commandment.
-And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
-On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

I visited this church twice with a friend and wanted to ask questions of the pastor. I asked him to call me when he had a minute and left him a card with my number on it and have called the church a few times got no answer and had left a message to call me in the first one and havent heard a word back. I know he preached from the bible and has that part down , but doesnt seem to want new members or attendees if he cant make a follow up call to someone who wants to ask questions about god. is that too much to ask of someone ? how can you lead people to god if you wont even return a call to someone who is interested in talking about him.

  • They simply preach the Bible, love God and want to help people. We visit everytime we are in town.
